He Had a Lithp

Years ago when En’s next older brother was a pre-schooler, he was keenly interested in letters and their sounds.  His name is Seth (rhymes with Beth).  However, his struggle with understanding the separate sounds of  s and th produced the following exchange.

As we drove in the car, he had been quietly thinking as he stared out the window, a  habit he continues to this day.  His thinking reached a conclusion and he joyfully exclaimed, “Mom!  My name has two etheth in it,  lithen:  Theth!”

After I whooped in laughter I encouraged him, “Great job, Seth!”  After all, he was correct, taking into account the spelling required to accurately represent a lithsp.

…another entry from the vault of innumerable moments of hilarity.
